Goldstream News Gazette - July 2002
"Saxophonist, Chris Millington and his Big Band have signed on to fill the scented air at Butchart Gardens with some sweet sounds this summer. The Chris Millington Big Band will perform on the main stage at Butchart Gardens every Thursday night throughout the summer. The repertoire for the 14-piece ensemble will run the gamut from traditional big-band classics like those of Glen Miller and Duke Ellington to more contemporary groove tunes from James Brown and Aretha Franklin, with lots of brassy R&B stops along the way. Millington's Big Band features a sampling of some of the finest West Coast musicians, such as Lou Williamson on drums and Karl Roessingh on the piano. Millington has garnered a loyal following at the Bengal Lounge in the Fairmont Empress Hotel, where he has performed Friday and Saturday nights for the past five years. "It's been going like gangbusters, getting more popular each year," said Millington's wife and business partner Eve. "It's a little ironic that Chris is playing a private gig at the Fairmont Empress for the US Chamber of Commerce on Canada Day, and then he kicks off the Butchart Gardens concert series on the American Independence holiday, July 4th."

Peninsula News Review - July 2002
"Led by the talented voices of Duncan Meiklejohn, and April Gislason, the seated audience bobs heads to the Supremes, and sways to New York, New York. Gislason works up the crowd with her enthusiastic rendition of La Bamba and Meiklejohn mellows it out with a Louis Armstrong voice singing What A Wonderful World. The 14 piece band appears to be having as good a time as the audience, particularly Lou Williamson as he pounds out his drum solo-played with soul, skill and a great big grin. There are many great performances on sax, trumpet and clarinet that it's impossible to keep track as the music flows along."

Goldstream News Gazette - June 2001
"Saxophonist, Chris Millington and his quartet will be the opening act for the Victoria Jazzfest performance of Grammy award winner Roy Hargrove, at the McPherson Playhouse. The Jazzfest, which kicks off June 22, is lucky to have a trumpet player of Hargrove's talent appear in Victoria, Millington said. He promises to blend his own act with a mixture of original material, and jazz standards. Millington will showcase some of the material he's been working on for his third CD, due to start recording in February. His first recording, Day Waves, was released in 1996, and followed up by Boppin' at the Bengal Lounge, which came out in 1999. Citing legends Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, and Sonny Stitt as some of his main influences, he invites anyone in need of some good jazz and an evening of great food and dance to check out his group at the Bengal Lounge* in the Empress Hotel Friday and Saturday evenings, where they have garnered a loyal following with performances there for the past four years." * Reservations recommended.

Victoria Times Colonist - December 2000
"Christmas Time and Little Children, songs penned by saxophonist Chris Millington, promise to be a highlight of the West Coast Kids' portion of the Louise Rose Concert."

JazzFest Victoria - June 1996
"Jump starting JazzFest at the festival's newest venue is the swingin' 14-member Chris Millington Big Band, featuring vocalist Duncan Meiklejohn. The band, led by saxophonist Chris Millington, features some of Victoria's finest instrumentalists performing unique arrangements from the big band era to contemporary jazz charts. Adding to the popular appeal of the band is a repertoire of classic rhythm and blues tunes, accompanied by the band's big horn section."

Times Colonist - January 1995
"Melt Down...There were raves for Chris Millington and his Big Band at the Hadassah-Wizo dinner on the weekend, the night before its big fund-raiser, Chocolate Sunday..."
